The Halo Effect
Well what is the story about the halo effect?
Who bloody knows the intimiate reasons for this. We have detected areas where the gold was close to the surface and is quite large in size up to 14 grams and only 10 inched deep, now it doesnt matter what you would swing over this it should boom in.
Yeah I know your thinking its on its edge yeah possible but not every nugget in the patch would be on its edge. My belief is there needs to be some type of mineralization in the soil for the halo effect to occur, if this is not present then no halo then no booming target.
Now about tracking a target out, mmmm well that halo around the nugget is a charged field similar to the radiating effect on iron filings around a magnet, if this field is tracked out your original target size aura has just deminished to where you may have heard the full size of the target and halo, with the halo tracked out you are now lucky to here the target so in actual effect you tracked out the halo not the target but now the halo is gone your detector is stretching to reach what caused the halo.
Therefore the best option is detecting in fixed with regular ground balancing or as on the GPX4000 medium tracking speed and check your target again in fixed mode just to make sure. Email me with your thoughts if you would like.
